Fun Morning Before the Rain

We got an early start and wasted no time getting into the action, putting a bunch of bonita in the boat while trolling. Unfortunately, thunderstorms moved into the area sooner than expected, so we made the safe call to head back to the dock about an hour early. Despite the weather cutting the trip short, everyone enjoyed some fast-paced fishing before the storms rolled in.

Fired Up Bonito Despite the Rain
July 12, 2026

Despite a day of steady rain, the crew and our guests made the most of it and put together a solid catch!

We left the dock at 6:00 AM and pointed the bow south toward the deeper water. Along the way, the Little Tunny (bonito) were fired up, keeping the rods bent early and often.
By the end of the trip, the crew boxed some mahi and Little Tunny, making for an action-packed day. While we didn’t connect with any wahoo this time, the water still has a slight green tint, which has kept them from showing up in big numbers. The good news is that conditions are improving every day, and it shouldn’t be long before the wahoo bite turns on.
A big thank you to our guests—they were a terrific group to have onboard, stayed positive through the rainy weather, and helped make it a fun and memorable day on the water. We appreciate you fishing with Catch & Cruise Adventures and look forward to seeing everyone back out again soon!
